Toto, I've got a feeling...

When we were in Kansas two weeks ago to surprise Oliver on his big 3-0, Maggie surprised each of us with a gift she had found just that week. It seems that a field project had taken her and a few of her engineer colleagues right past the OZ Winery - mental drunken engineers, pocket pencil protectors all askew... (The OZ Winery is located next door to the OZ Museum! Attractions like this guarantee future Kansas trips for Ribhard.) We opted for the red "Witch in a Ditch". We have not yet tried it to learn if it's up to Ribhard's boxed wine standards. We are letting it age right now, but we do SO enjoy these labels - and thought you might too!

Gizoogle It!

One of my coworkers came across an amusing website today... www.gizoogle.com/

As this is my first official blog post, I hope not to disappoint in that you all may have already been aware of this site. Basicaly, it takes any website you give it and it ghettoises it. Take my company's website for example: here it is un gizoogled: http://www.lsapa.com/index.php/home and here it is gizoogled! http://sites.gizoogle.com/index2.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lsapa.com%2Findex.php%2Fhome

Formerly: Latimer, Sommers and Associates, P.A. is a consulting engineering firm with over 50 years of experience in the design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, and environmental systems.

Gizoogled: "Latima, Hustla n Associates, P.A. is a consult'n blunt-rollin' firm wit over 50 years of experience in tha design of mechanizzles electrical, frontin' telecommunicizzle n envirizzle systems."

Enjoy!

(Bleu)Cheese Burger in Paradise (Sparks,NV)

Todd & I have started to enjoy the wonderful world of BBQ-ing, since moving to NV. We have done the barn yard bird many ways, several types of steaks with all kinds of marinades. But you just can't beat the good ol' hamburger, especially when you give the burgers a little something extra...well, little isn't really the word.

Our perfect burger:
Meat with several spices and few dashes of hot sauce
Blue Cheese crumbles added 2 mins before taking off grill
Crispy bacon cooked on stove while meat is grilling
Onion rings that have been deep fried and placed in oven until needed
Lettuce & Tomatoes (no Heinz 57 or french fried potatoes) but with a big Kosher Pickle
and a cold draft beer (well it was a Corona w/lime is a bottle...close enough!)

Note: we had to flip the buns because the bottom bun could not support all that crap.

What's yall favorite grill food?

Awfully Presumptuous

As you may know I work for an international company headquarted in South Korea. In my office people speak everything from English to Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and even some Arabic dialects.

Anyway I took a quick survey of my employees and none has ever seen our nightly "cleaning crew". However, when there is a large box or something that they want disposed of, that might not look like trash, they'll write "Basura" on it... and I wonder, what if the cleaning people spoke Chinese or German or something?
