Ok so how did we do???? Was it as much fun as you anticipated?
Been thinking of you today D-Unit....how you feelin'?
boan said you finished and mentioned something about an oreo cookie.
Inquiring minds want to know...........
Ouch....
Well I went out real strong, and felt strong most of the way... I suppose right up until about mile 22 when all systems sorta shut down... hips locked up, etc., so the last 4 miles were not my best but I finished strong nonetheless. So sorta a mixed bag of emotions but 26 miles can test one's will for sure.
I'm still in pain and I can't put any weight on my left foot, and my right knee hurts. Basically it kills me to walk, or to get up from a sitting position.
Indeed during the run there were people handing out water, trail mix, bananas, and yes I even was able to grab an oreo cookie at about mile 19 or so ..
I really should have finished around 3:45 to 3:55 or so but came in at 4:07.. the finish line was uphill (which was awfully sweet of them) but at least I finished with an all out sprint. My fastest pace of the day was through the finish line.
Now I just have to convince myself never to do it again... though I can unfortunately see the pull to do better...
Wow - Congratulations! That is excellent! I truly cannot remember the last time I DROVE 26 miles.
way to go polvo...we are proud of you...i drank an extra magaritta at boan and barry's tonight in your honor!!
