I enjoyed this - as did Ribhard. You might have seen the NBC coverage last night mentioning the influence of Pinellas County in FL. I think it turned blue just as they opened our mail-in ballots.
I am certainly in a red state... lots of people here cuddled up with their fox news bed sheets and stocked up on canned foods, bottled water and batteries ... my ultra religious / fearful receptionist called in sick today... she must still be in her storm shelter...
I did fear a little though for pinellas county in the event the election went the other way... would imagine the villiage would have been set ablaze...
...and I was wondering how your receptionist was doing today. The secretary here was commiserating with students - very much an abuse of her influence as "the responsible adult". I have been biting my tongue so hard there's a hole in it. (She also apparently did not hear McCain's speech about working together as Americans.) Yea, as for FL, I lamented to Ribhard last night that if we were there, we could be partying: busting a cap down at the Baywalk or something...
interesting looking at the map of colorado... denver, arapahoe, boulder, larimer, and jefferson counties went Obama (where the money and colleges are), eagle county where you get rich ski bums and such wen't obama - but when you get out to where the 'country boys' live like kit carson, lincoln, or elbert they went mccain.... and in the home of Haggard and the other cherubs in Colorado springs - went mccain....
makes sense too that of the southern states really only Florida switched - but then again it's pretty much known that most of the people in florida aren't from florida...so that makes sense...
I was pretty damn excited about the outcome...glad to see florida and colorado moved over ...but jesus this colorado springs staying with mccain is a bummer..I guess the republicans coming here 68 times in 12 hours must have made the difference.....
