We have a red squirrel in our backyard who is quite animated in an overly hoppy, rabid sort of way. I have named her 'Ballerina Squirrel' after Lionel Richie's song 'Ballerina Girl' (1986, "Ballerina Squirrel, you are so lovely...."). Last week, as I was enjoying my first few days of summer vacation, I was watching my backyard critters, and Ballerina Squirrel provided a lovely show. She had a huge
stick in her mouth and was hopping around the yard, finally stopping long enough to turn the stick in her little paws and play it like a flute. At this moment, I felt inspired to leave the patio and dance with her. Just then I remembered the warning on the news about an outbreak of rabies - and to avoid animals that are acting strange. Alas, this is the curse of all artists...

Yes but is the above statement implying that the squirrel has rabies or the human that is crazed enough to dance with a rodent?
Also, I am now changing your name from "runs with kittens" to "dances with squirrels."
I do so like my new name, Two Dog.
the squirrels seem normal after seeing the backyard rabbits hopping over each other sideways, doing 360 flips, and standing up and doing Rockette Dance Kicks.
