Ballerina Squirrel
We have a red squirrel in our backyard who is quite animated in an overly hoppy, rabid sort of way. I have named her 'Ballerina Squirrel' after Lionel Richie's song 'Ballerina Girl' (1986, "Ballerina Squirrel, you are so lovely...."). Last week, as I was enjoying my first few days of summer vacation, I was watching my backyard critters, and Ballerina Squirrel provided a lovely show. She had a huge
stick in her mouth and was hopping around the yard, finally stopping long enough to turn the stick in her little paws and play it like a flute. At this moment, I felt inspired to leave the patio and dance with her. Just then I remembered the warning on the news about an outbreak of rabies - and to avoid animals that are acting strange. Alas, this is the curse of all artists...

Amusing

A woman I do not know, found me from a highly neglected blog I started just for my art dolls.
http://trollopspeacocks.wordpress.com/
She bought one of my trollops back in the 90’s from a gallery in Illinois that I don’t have any memory of selling to (no big surprise there). The poor doll needed fixing and I said sure, I’ll give it a shot, plus I was curious about what it might look like after all this time and comparative changes in the way I play with clay now. Big change. Check out that jaw line!
