Pilfered Lychees

Is this the oldest tree?

I was trying to find out where the oldest living tree in the world would be. And after a few googles I came across various claims. This 9,550 year old spruce has been discovered in Dalarna, Sweden. A favourable climate has produced an upright trunk since the beginning of the 1940s. (Credit: Leif Kullman).

But I am not sure if this is the oldest tree. I wish I knew someone that knew more about trees.

When A Purse Becomes a Cake

Where in the world is Polvo San Diego?

So I was driving back to my house from South of Dallas today and I was on I45. From I45 I had to get on I30-E and while my house is, in fact, "East", I couldn't take I30-E I had to Take I-30-E "West", not I-30-E-East. After a while on I-30-E-West would turn into I35"E" which I would, in fact, take North.. After about 30 minutes I would take I-35-E-North until I hit "Main Street", Which is also called "FM1171", which is also called "Cross Timbers Blvd". Needless to say I only got lost once and it only cost me about 30 extra minutes.

Why don't they just install some flippen mountains like in Colorado, call those "west", and have one major Interstate that runs north and south?

I need a beer.

Doo, doo, doo, lookin out my back door.

Sunday Breakfast on Deck

It is a beautiful morning here - we are having breakfast and reading the sunday paper out on our deck (Vic fixed bacon...and grits - of course)...
gives us a good view of the mts - and dumpster - so we can get first dibs on anything good that might be discarded by our fellow apartment dwellers...

Clean office!!!

I have been threatening to clean up the home-office bedroom for almost two years......there were many Nay-Sayers out there who doubted my determination....I just want to let everyone know that I cleaned off the desk, the floor, the files, and behind the door. So there!!!!

Conway's Red Top Hamburger

This is a local hamburger joint called Conway's Red Top .....which has been in Colorado Springs since 1944. It was a very good burger.....and one was plenty for Patty and I. (Of course, I saw some home made chilli on the menu and snagged a cup of it too!)
